Very occasionally, Londontheinside like to get away from having lager thrown over us at gigs and being shoved around mosh pits. Sometimes we like something more classy and civilised from a night out.
It’s at times like these we’d go to somewhere like Foundation, a newly-opened cocktail bar/restaurant/club in the heart of Covent Garden. Some of you may know it as the Langley in its previous incarnation, but this is a bar reborn. Based on Langley Street, Foundation brings a touch of class to the mix of local tourist pubs and ‘after work’ chain bars.
The main underground bar area is divided into smaller secluded areas, there's even a garden with a tree and trelliss in one corner - al fresco, in fresco! The drinks menus are hidden inside LP sleeves and the food menus are printed on vinyl records, but it’s the drinks menu which sets this place apart from your average local boozer.
Cocktails are served in quirky jam jars, teapots and even a fizzing, smoking conical flask. The selection of wines, beers, shots and shooters are huge. We couldn’t leave without testing the food too, and the pizza, calamari and fishcakes all get a thumbs up.
The restaurant and club - with a dance floor and private booths, are located in a separate room. The music is a mix of house, dubstep and indie, with a little old school pop mixed in. La Roux was guest DJ on the official opening night last Friday and we spotted various other celebs wandering around. So if you fancy yourself as the next Avid Marrion you know where it’s at.

CABIN FEVER PRESENTS: YOUR OTHER LOVER, THE JONS, 1914's
![]() |
| YourOtherLover |
This Saturday the 26th February head down to the Bullet Bar, Kentish Town for CABIN FEVER and enjoy another installment of Rock'n'Roll antics from some of the best and up and coming bands around! Taking to the stage this month are:
1914'S
Solid 1980’s machine builds ersatz kicks and hand claps for destroying dance floors. It really cuts a sharp line having three artists in a row, dancing cheek-to-cheek and toe-to-toe.
YourOtherLover
A rock n roll band of the darkest breed. Dan Smith's vocals have Interpolesque elements but his below baritone voice is a unique force to be reckoned with.
THE JONS
THE JONS LIKE TO PARTY!!!! Winning Southend Radio Battle of the Bands 2009 and going on to come 2nd in the indie live and unsigned competition 2010 out of over 10,000 bands!
Plus The Munroes DJ SET!
DOORS 6 - 2.30am
Free Before 8! £5 after
Mega cheap drink deals ( 2 for £5 bottles and spirit/mixers, 5 for £10 shots!)
With some of the best bands around, great tunes all night from the munroes DJ & Cheap drinks, this is certainly not one to miss!

PUB WATCH: MASON & TAYLOR
Mason and Taylor is a new pub from the people behind the popular Dalston drinking den The Duke of Wellington. The pub is located in the heart of hip Shoreditch, on the old site of Mexican restaurant Green & Red. It takes pride in the fact that it serves up a whole host of independently supplied beers and ales. If you like your fruit beers this is where it’s at!We can recommend the Mango beer - fresh and fruity baby! It’s a great place to meet and chat which is a rarity in the area as most pubs are LOUD. The coffees are also pretty sweet and if you’re hungry or just need to soak up those ales they serve food.

BUILDING BRICKS...
LondONtheInside are moving into construction, no word of a lie, we are supplying the first brick for a wall being built in the centre of Covent Garden! The wall is part of Foundation, a trendy new bar the West End opening this month. The bespoke cocktail bar will offer eating, drinking and gyrating.
Our brick sporting LondonOnTheInside's logo will be used along with others who wish to be associated with the new venue. Sadly the wall is only a temporary PR stunt but should you want to see our (or any other) brick you’re in luck as the bricks will to be moved inside the bar where it will sit forever and ever and ever.....
The bar opens Feb 14th but the grand launch party takes place Friday Feb 25th with free drinks, free food and a surprise DJ - The bad news is it's guestlist only but the good news is we can get two lucky people on the list! All you need to do is follow us on twitter or facebook and tweet or comment your favourite cocktail. Make sure if you tweet you mention us so we can see you have entered.
Winners announced Friday 11th at 2pm. GOOD LUCK LOVERS!

THE LOST LOVERS BALL…..
It’s only Feb 2nd and we are already sick of the site of Valentines Day The ball takes place at Battersea Power station and the website promises “breath taking performances, fine dining and workshops”. The dress code is Tainted Love and they're encouraging people to discover the darker side of love - Ooo er! Singles need not worry as there are tables dedicated to you, and who knows you might just leave a couple.
11th, 12th and 13th February
Tickets cost £49.50 so it’s not cheap but apparently they don’t make any profit, every single penny goes into the night’s entertainment.
